The city of Chelan in central Washington State is awash in activities and attractions that keep visitors coming back time and again. This resort community features a host of accommodations and amenities to keep visitors comfortable and entertained while enjoying the serene beauty of Lake Chelan. Much of the area around Chelan is composed of wilderness that invites camping, hiking and a variety of other outdoor activities, making this a good destination for those wishing to experience Washington's backwoods. The lake is accessible in a variety of ways, from boating to sightseeing from the sky via one of the local charter airlines. Exploring Chelan in this fashion will also allow visitors to call on Stehekin, a town at the far end of Lake Chelan that cannot be reached by car. In-town attractions include Lake Chelan Golf Course, Lake Chelan Historical Museum and shopping at one of the many specialty shops.
